Lightbulb Any Everquesters in here?

I had a buddy who, a few years ago, was very active in Everquest. He loved his MMORPG as much as we do ours. I never got involved in EQ, but I do remember when they released EQII, which they supposedly did in a effort to attract more new users.

Didn't really hear much about EQ after that, and I wonder if its demise was caused by a rift between the players of EQ and EQII, those who crossed over, and those who refused to.

I love Guild Wars, and I hope that the release of Guild Wars 2 does not signal the end of the original. At the rate I play and complete missions, I still have years of play time left.

Has anyone seen or heard any concrete commentary that tells whether GW will remain live after GW2 comes online?

I'm going to say yes, the servers will stay active. That's what I remember anyway. It's probably in the thread about the Jeff Strain interview in Riverside.

I must say too, that I thought you had posted an EQ thread in the Q&A section of a Guild Wars fansite. Mild flames were about to issue forth. But I read everything, so you're good.

You bring up a good point that our community has yet to face.

Though gw does have 3 chapters and one expansion pack. It is through the expansion that they are going to try and keep the game Alive but it might just backfire.

No one really knows in gw what will happen. My guess is that there will be some people that will make the jump and never look back and others will finish gw1 and still others will bounce between the 2 trying to unlock things for their gw2 account through to connection that will exist between the hom.

Either way it looks to be a crap shoot.

That said I still play Halo more than I play Halo 2

They have stated, for a certainty, that you will not be able to do this.

But seriously, check the threads in Riverside. All the info we know is there.
